Can the Franco glass with the gold rim go in the dishwasher?
Better not. The gold band is an applied layer rather than through-coloured glass, so hot programmes and aggressive tablets dull the shine over time. Wash that version by hand in lukewarm water with a soft cloth. The clear Franco can go in as normal.
How much difference is there between the clear Franco and the gold rim?
Only a centilitre in capacity: the clear one holds 31 cl and the gold rim 32 cl. Shape, height and wall thickness are identical, so you can use them together on the same table without any trouble.
Can I use Franco for cocktails with ice?
Yes. With just over thirty centilitres there is room for three or four ice cubes plus the drink. Put the ice in first and pour afterwards, so the drink chills straight away and the cubes stay at the bottom instead of floating on top.
Does Franco have a foot or a stem?
No, it is a stemless glass that you hold in your hand. The base is deliberately heavy so the glass stays stable, even on a table where people walk past or where a tablecloth lies underneath.
