What size ice scoop do I need?
With 0.15 litres you fill one tumbler per scoop. The 0.35 litre is the standard bar size and fills a highball glass to the top. The 0.7 litre is the one you use for filling buckets, coolers or a shaker when you work in bulk.
Why shouldn't you use a glass to scoop ice?
Because glass is virtually invisible in ice. If a rim chips off, the entire supply has to go and the machine gets a full clean before you use it again. A scoop costs next to nothing by comparison and works faster too.
When do you choose a perforated ice scoop?
When you work with crushed ice or with melting ice. The holes let the water drain away, so only ice ends up in the glass and your drink isn't already diluted before you've poured. Apart from that it works just like an ordinary scoop.
Can an ice scoop go in the dishwasher?
Aluminium and plastic scoops can, although aluminium will eventually go dull at high temperatures. Stainless steel can take anything. In any case, wash it at least once per shift and dry it before you hang it back up.
