Which size is the standard shot measure?
The 3 cl glass. That is the classic measure for a short, strong sip and the amount most shot recipes assume. The 4.5 cl glass is meant for drinks you sip and taste.
Which glass do you use for a layered shot?
The 4.5 cl glass. Two or three layers need height to stay visible, and you have room to run the top layer over a spoon without the glass overflowing.
Do you serve whisky chilled or at room temperature?
At room temperature. Cold closes down the aroma, so you taste less of a good whisky or rum. Vodka and jenever, by contrast, are served cold from the freezer, because there the sharpness needs taming.
How do you keep small glasses from breaking?
Place them mouth down in the upper rack or in a separate compartment of the dishwasher. Most breakage happens when a small glass ends up at the bottom of a full basket and gets wedged.
