The choice between the two is about what you pour into them, not about taste in design. The 35.5 cl tumbler is the size for drinks served over ice without a mixer, such as whisky, rum or an old fashioned. The 40 cl highball glass is narrower and taller and leaves room for ice plus a soft drink or tonic. If you want a range that will get you through a whole evening, take a set of six of each, because that covers both the short and the long drinks. Use one large, clear ice cube in the tumbler. That brings out the pattern in the wall best and dilutes your old fashioned more slowly than a handful of small cubes. In the highball glass, fill up with ice to the top first, because a glass full of ice chills faster and melts more slowly than a half-filled one. A gin and tonic with a broad strip of citrus peel looks good in this one, certainly with a generous hand of tonic.

The Glitch is machine-made soda-lime glass with a tempered surface, intended for intensive use. The glasses can go in the dishwasher. Do place them separately, because the stepped wall creates uneven contact points and two glasses knocking together damage each other faster than with a smooth shape. Rinsing afterwards with clean water keeps the refraction crisp, because a limescale haze dulls precisely the effect this range depends on.
