Glenfiddich Bourbon Barrel 14
Fourteen years in ex-bourbon casks followed by a short finish in new, freshly charred American oak. Toffee, orange peel and toasted wood at 43%: Glenfiddich for bourbon lovers.

Two types of American oak
The Bourbon Barrel 14 is the first Glenfiddich to be matured in two types of American oak. Fourteen years in ex-bourbon casks form the foundation and provide a rich, sweet flavour. The whisky then receives a short finish in new American oak casks that have been freshly charred, creating a lively vanilla note.
So there is no sherry wood involved, and you can taste it: while the 12 Years and 18 Years have sherry in their maturation, this whisky is sweet and woody in the style of a bourbon. At 43%, it is also slightly more robust than the 40% of the classic age statements, making it well suited to a stirred cocktail.
In brief
Toffee, vanilla and toasted wood
Vanilla & toffee
Sweet toffee and lively vanilla from the freshly charred oak, with a fresh hint of orange peel.
Rich and sweet
Fuller than the 12 Years, with toffee and woody notes. The 43% gives it a warm, substantial body.
Toasted oak
The finish revolves around toasted wood and orange peel, lingering warmly with a light spiciness.
Glenfiddich Bourbon Barrel 14 tasting profile neat. The charred casks add a roasted note, but there is no peat smoke.
Drink it like bourbon
This malt feels at home wherever you would normally reach for bourbon: over ice, in a stirred cocktail or with a splash of ginger ale.
On one large ice cube
5 cl over one large ice cube in a heavy tumbler. The 43% can handle the dilution well; after a few minutes, the vanilla and orange peel come forward.
Tumblers →In an Old Fashioned
Stir 50 ml Bourbon Barrel 14, 5 ml sugar syrup, and 2 dashes of bitters briefly with ice, pour over a large ice cube, and finish with an orange peel. The peel brings out the citrus in the whisky.
Old Fashioned recipe →With ginger ale
40 ml whisky with 120 ml ginger ale in a highball glass full of ice, with an orange slice. The ginger pairs beautifully with the toffee and toasted wood.
Highball glasses →Bourbon classics, but with malt
Recipes that call for bourbon work well with this whisky. It gives them a lighter, fruitier base.

Old Fashioned
Whisky, sugar, and bitters with an orange peel. This is where this bottle feels most at home.
Whisky Sour
Whisky, lemon, sugar, and egg white. The toffee balances the sourness.
Mint Julep
Whisky with fresh mint, sugar, and crushed ice. A classic from bourbon country.
Paper Plane
Whisky, Aperol, amaro, and lemon in equal parts. Fresh and bittersweet.More Glenfiddich flavors
