Chivas Regal 25 Years

The oldest and most luxurious Chivas. A modern version of the blend with which Chivas Regal conquered New York in 1909: creamy and deep, with chocolate, fruit and nuts. A whisky for special moments.

What is Chivas Regal 25 Years?

The blend it all began with in 1909

The very first Chivas Regal was a 25-year-old blend, made for the American market in 1909. It conquered New York, but the two world wars and Prohibition brought it to an end. Much later, the 25 Years was re-released as a modern version of that first luxury blend.

Every whisky in this bottle has spent at least 25 years in cask. This gives it a depth and smoothness that younger Chivas Regals don’t have: chocolate, cream and fruit, with orange, peach and nuts. The alcohol content is 40%, as with all Chivas Regals. This isn’t a whisky for the cocktail shaker, but for a quiet moment and a good glass.

How to drink it

Tasting a 25-year-old whisky

With a whisky of this age, it’s all about taking your time. A few tips to get the most out of it.

Let it breathe

Pour 25 to 30 ml into a tasting glass and let it sit for five minutes. Old whiskies need time to open up; only then do the fruit and nuts really emerge.

A drop of water

Taste it neat first. Then add one or two drops of cool water and taste again. The creaminess often becomes even more pronounced.

After dinner

Serve it after dinner alongside dark chocolate, nuts or a piece of aged cheese. No ice: it masks the aromas you're paying for.
