Talisker Storm
The Talisker for those who do not want it softened. More smoke, more brine and more pepper, building like a storm: fresh on the nose, then increasingly complex.

A storm that builds
Talisker Storm is the counterpoint to the Skye. Where that whisky softens the house style, Storm pushes it in the opposite direction: more smoke, more salt and more pepper than the 10 Years. The producer describes it as an appealing, sweet and full-bodied single malt, powerful and fresh on the nose, with a complexity that increases like a gathering storm.
Beneath the smoke lies plenty of sweetness. Red fruit gives way to smoke, brine and an explosion of pepper, while mouthwatering sweetness and nutty smokiness keep everything in balance. Like the rest of the range, it is bottled at 45.8%, giving all those layers room to shine.
In brief
Brine, berries and an explosion of pepper
Brine and honey
Young but rounded, with brine, burning wood, vanilla and honey. Fresh, and becoming more complex with every minute in the glass.
Sweet, spicy, smoky
Sweet and spicy, with cranberries and blackcurrants. The peat smoke is always present, followed by black pepper.
Walnut and charcoal
A lingering finish with walnuts and fruity peat, and a touch of charcoal that stays with you.
Tasting profile of Talisker Storm neat. With water, the red fruit becomes more pronounced and the pepper slightly softer.
Tasting Storm: take your time
A whisky that builds up is not one to drink quickly. Give it time in the glass and taste it in stages.
Taste it in three sips
3 cl in a tulip-shaped tasting glass. First sip neat for the brine and smoke, second with two drops of water for the fruit, third after five minutes for the walnut on the finish.
Tasting glasses →Over one large ice cube
4 cl over a large, clear ice cube in a heavy tumbler. The cold tempers the pepper, but the high ABV leaves plenty of smoke.
Whisky glasses →As a smoky float
Make a Penicillin with blended whisky and, at the end, float 10 ml of Talisker Storm over the back of a bar spoon. You smell the smoke with every sip.
To the Penicillin →Cocktails that can handle smoke
Storm is intense. Use it as a float or as a small part of the base, and choose cocktails where smoke adds something.

Penicillin
Whisky, lemon, honey and ginger, with a smoky float. Storm delivers the most smoke of the range.
Rusty Nail
Scotch and Drambuie over ice. The liqueur's honey and Storm's brine keep each other in balance.
Sazerac with a smoky rinse
Rye, sugar and bitters in a glass that has been rinsed. Rinse with Storm instead of absinthe for a smoky version.
Hot Toddy
Whisky, hot water, honey and lemon. Served warm, the smoke and pepper of Storm come through especially well.More Talisker flavours
