Sourz Blackcurrant
Deep purple and slightly less sweet than its red siblings. Sourz Blackcurrant has the full flavor of blackcurrant with a tart finish, making it the Sourz that pairs best with tonic and bubbles.

Cassis with a tart twist
Sourz Blackcurrant is made from blackcurrants, the fruit you know from crème de cassis. The difference lies in the finish: where cassis is heavy and sweet, Blackcurrant finishes fresh and tart, like all Sourz. The alcohol content is 15%.
That combination makes it less sweet than Red Berry and works well in drinks that are slightly bitter or dry. With tonic, you get a purple highball with depth; with bubbles, a fresher Kir Royal; and in a Bramble, it takes the place of the blackberry liqueur.
In brief
Dark fruit, dry and tart
Blackcurrant
Dark and fruity, with the characteristic aroma of blackcurrant and a hint of candy.
Full and tart
Rich berry fruit, sweet but not sticky, followed by a fresh tart tingle.
Dry and short
A drier finish than the red flavors. That is precisely why it stays fresh in a mix.
Sourz Blackcurrant flavor profile, ice-cold. With tonic, the dry, bitter character of the blackcurrant comes forward.
Serving Blackcurrant: tonic, bubbles or neat
Blackcurrant calls for something bitter or sparkling alongside it. That brings out the blackcurrant at its best.
Blackcurrant tonic
40 ml Sourz Blackcurrant and 150 ml tonic in a large gin and tonic glass filled with ice, with a slice of lemon. Purple, fresh and slightly bitter.
Gin and tonic glasses →With bubbles
20 ml Blackcurrant in a coupe or flute, topped up with 100 ml cold prosecco or cava. A fresher, tarter Kir Royal.
To the Kir Royal →As a shot
3 cl, ice-cold from the freezer, in a shot glass. Its drier finish makes it the Sourz shot for anyone who does not like very sweet drinks.
Shot glasses →Cocktails where blackcurrant belongs
Wherever a recipe calls for cassis or blackberry liqueur, you can try Blackcurrant. The result is fresher and slightly more tart.

Kir Royal
Cassis topped up with champagne. Blackcurrant makes it less sweet and gives it a tart edge.
Bramble
Gin, lemon and sugar on crushed ice, with a dark liqueur drizzled over it. Blackcurrant takes its place.
Purple Rain
Vodka and blue curaçao with something red added make it purple. With Blackcurrant as the red element, it becomes deeper in color and fresher.
Blackcurrant gin and tonic
A classic gin and tonic with 1 cl of Blackcurrant added. Fruitier, purpler and still dry.More Sourz flavours
