Salmari Vodka
Salmari's salmiak flavor, but as vodka. Drier, less sweet and, at 40%, considerably stronger than the 25% liqueur. Ice-cold as a shot or long with energy drink, for those who like salty licorice and are looking for something stronger.

Salmari, but stronger and drier
Salmari is best known in the Netherlands for its black salmiak liqueur at 25%. Salmari Vodka takes that same licorice flavor and puts it in a 40% vodka. The vodka is made in Finland from wheat and Finnish ice water and is column-distilled.
The difference from the liqueur lies in the sweetness and strength. Whereas regular Salmari is thick and sweet with a salty kick, the vodka is drier and less sweet, allowing the salmiak to come through more distinctly. It is intended for those who want a stronger licorice shot or a long drink with energy drink in which the liqueur would be too sweet.
In brief
Salty licorice without the syrup
Salmiak
The familiar aroma of salty licorice and liquorice root, slightly sharper than the liqueur due to the higher alcohol content.
Dry and salty
Less sweet and thinner than regular Salmari. The salmiak takes center stage, with a warm alcoholic note from the 40%.
Long and warm
The licorice flavor lingers, with more warmth than the liqueur and barely any sweet aftertaste.
Flavor profile of Salmari Vodka ice-cold from the freezer. At room temperature, it is sharper and you notice the 40% alcohol more.
How to drink Salmari Vodka
Cold is the key word. Straight from the freezer, the vodka is smoother and the licorice flavor comes through nicely; neat or long with energy drink are the two classics.
Ice-cold as a shot
Place the bottle and shot glasses in the freezer and pour 2 cl per shot. The cold makes the vodka slightly syrupy and softens the 40% alcohol. Drink in one go.
Shot glasses →Salmari vodka energy
40 ml Salmari Vodka in a highball glass filled with ice, topped up with 120 ml energy drink. Because the vodka is less sweet than the liqueur, this long drink stays fresher.
Highball glasses →With cola and lime
40 ml Salmari Vodka with 120 ml cola in a tumbler with ice and a lime wedge. Licorice and cola enhance each other, while the lime keeps it fresh.
Tumblers →Shots and mixes with Salmari Vodka
A liquorice-flavoured vodka calls for simple recipes where the salmiak remains the star.
